Well, I can't believe it is so long since I posted here.  I really do need to get my act together and post more often......

So what has been happening recently?  Well, life has, as per normal, been hectic and I never seem to have a spare minute.  Why can't there be more than 24 hours in a day and 7 days in a week? I need more time to even begin to scratch the surface of my to do list!!!

Anyhow, yesterday afternoon was spent putting together a set of gift cards and a matching box....or rather six sets of gift cards and boxes! I was finishing off an article for The Hybrid Chick blog and this is what I ended up with:

Aren't those gorgeous cards? I used these items:

A Creative Spring (journal cards)

Fancy Art Roses No. 2

Fancy Art Roses

Believe you me, these are as gorgeous in real life as they look on the screen ;).

Full details are in The Hybrid Chick blog so why not pop along and see what else we get up to there?!!!!

I have been meaning to finish making this gift box and post it for ages and finally had some free time yesterday. Why is it that whenever you want to get something finished, there are always six million other things that have to be done first?!!!

I used cutting files from Valentina's Creations (the pictures are linked to the store so just click on those if you want to take a closer look):

Aren't they both neat?  The box cutting file was actually so easy to use and the rosettes were just as easy - I just needed to cut two of those. The most complicated/fiddly part was putting the rosette together!

Anyhow, full details are can be found here on The Hybrid chick blog so go take a look and see how the box and rosette was made and then why not have a go yourself? You don't even need a cutting machine to make these as you can easily hand cut the box file from the pdf and use an edge punch on cardstock to make the rosette!

Happy crafting!

Thankfully, the January tax return filing deadline has now passed and I was so pleased to actually get all my clients' tax returns (and mine ;) ) filed before midnight on 31 January. Mind you, my tax return actually went in at 2 minutes to midnight, so I did cut is fine!

But, with the tax return panic now being over, I can get back to the serious business of crafting!

Last last year I made some tile coasters and have just got around to posting about them on the hybrid chick blog:

They were so easy to make and full details are on the Hybrid Chick blog (just click on the above photo to be taken straight to the blog). These were a lovely change from cards and albums, and made a lovely gift when tied with ribbon:

In fact, they were so easy to make that I ended up being carried away and used up a whole box of tiles (a pack of 25 from Homebase which cost less than £5) to make even more coasters.  Here are just a few of them:

Why not have a go yourself at making some of these?  They really are very simple as you just need tiles, cork matting, glue and varnish.  As I mentioned above, full details are on the hybrid chick blog so why not take a look and then make some coasters yourself?

Well, I have a glass of red wine calling my name, so I'm off now!  I hope to be back soon with some more crafting ideas so in the meantime, happy scrapping!

Just a quick post to let you know I have actually been busy crafting (I should really have been working though ;) ), and have just finished an album made using the video tutorials from Angelwings 14100.

I was pleased with how it turned out.  It was made using a digital kit, Laughter is the Best Medicine by Kimeric Kreations,  which you can find at The Digichick store:

http://www.thedigichick.com/shop/Laughter-is-the-Best-Medicine-collection.html

Full details of the completed album along with links to the video instructions can be found on the hybrid chick blog here.

Well, I'm off for a day's bookkeeping at a client's now, so hope you can get some time to craft today!

Well, I've been playing with digital templates again and I found some gorgeous box templates at The Digichick.  This is one I got my hands on the other day:

It is sooo easy to use and I combined it with some rose flowers that I have used before:

Neat, eh?

I used papers and journal tags from this digital kit:

And this is what I ended up with:

The larger flowers were made with the rose in bloom template whereas the smaller ones were from punched shapes using one of the punches from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack from Stampin' Up!

The large flower on the box was made using the Blossom Punch from Stampin' Up.  Full details of how I made these will be posted on the Hybrid Chick blog shortly so why not go take a look and let me know what you think?

Happy Scrapping!

I have been so busy with work (you know, that thing that stops me crafting but just about pays the bills) that I have barely had time to think these last few weeks.  I'm running late with my Hybrid Chick project (again :( ) but take a look at what I used for my last one:

Isn't that just gorgeous? I just love that kit, there are so many scrummy papers and embellishments in it! Best of all, it comes with a flowerpot template:

You just can't beat having a digital kit and a hybrid template combined - the best of both worlds ;)!!!  So naturally I had to have a go at this and look see how it turned out:

Of course, I had to force myself to use my brand new never been used before Stampin' Up! Floral Frames Framelits dies - now that's real dedication for you!!!  As you can imagine, it was a real chore breaking into that and using it for the first time ;)!!!

For further details on how this was made, please take a look at the Hybrid Chick blog.  The Hybrid chick team have also come up with some amazing creations so you will find plenty of inspiration there ;).

In the meantime, I shall go back to pretending I am preparing cash flow forecasts whilst in reality looking out through my office door into the garden and the lovely sunshine that I just want to be sitting outside in!!!

Happy scrapping!

Well, November was really hectic (but hey, when is my life not hectic?!!!) and the bast part, apart obviously from seeing my son and his girlfriend when they came over to celebrate his birthday (awe, my baby is 27!!!!), was becoming a member of the hybrid team at The Digichick.  I've loved their site for absolutely ages and was over the moon to become a team member - it is, literally, a dream come true ;).  My son is well impressed (apart from my daughter and mum (she makes all her own cards too), he is the only other member of the family who takes an interest in my crafting) and I haven't even bothered telling hubbie about being on the hybrid team as he will only go on about how busy I am and how come I think I can do this and work and blah, blah, blah, blah!

Anyhow, for my first project (and tutorial!!!) I decided to make a Christmas album/planner.  Yes, I am totally disorganised, and yes, I haven't done anything for Christmas yet (other than put up the mini tree in my office!) but I intend to get organised and this planner is a start.....  Anyhow, if you are anything at all like me, maybe you should have a go at making one of these too?

I'm not going to go into great detail here about what, where, who and how I made it as you will be able to find it all on The Hybrid Chick blog from tomorrow (Monday).   However, will show you what I used.  Firstly, this is the kit I worked with:

Pretty neat for a Christmas album, eh, and perfect for a planner/organiser!  I just printed off what I needed onto cardstock and paper, added double sided tape and glitter glue, and et voila, one Christmas album!!!  Well, it did take a little bit longer than that to make, although to be honest, it actually took even longer to take the photos and write and post the tutorial than it did to make the album, tags and cards!

And here are the inside pages:

You will see I also made some Christmas cards and tags to go with the album.  The tags were made using the kit and a selection of templates from Michelle Batton:

These are so useful and you can do so many different things with them.  I reckon they would make brilliant card backgrounds once printed out - all you would have to do is add embellishments.  IO just used them for journaling here, and this is what I ended up with:

I reckon I'll be able to use these for all the lists I need to make for Christmas....presents, stocking fillers, shopping list, work to do before the big day......  Can you tell I am  a list kind of person?

The cards are A6 size so can fit into the album (which is A5 size) so if I am out and about, I can whip out a card for someone in no time at all ;).  The cards were made with these brilliant digital stamps:

I love that music and swirls stamp and can see me using that on birthday cards in the future ;).  these are the cards I made with them:

Mind you, I did add some Christmas Ornaments made with the Stampin' Up! Ornament Keepsakes bundle and the purple-y paper is from Stampin' Up! too.

Like I said earlier, if you want the full details of how to make this album, take a wander over to the Hybrid chick blog tomorrow.  My album is quite plain, I didn't add any embellishments, but I am really pleased with how it turned out.  Mind you, next year, I think I will make an earlier start on an album so I can dress it up somewhat!

Happy scrapping!
